Visit from Great-Grandmother

We had a visit from out "Maw-maw Sue", great-grandmother. We were certainly a armful for her. Can't you see? HA! We were trying to "figure out" what she had on her arm. Our "Paw-paw Charlie" is very sick and in the hospital. He has end stage renal disease, thus the visit while Maw-Maw Sue is in town. We are excited about another visit, "Aunt Rockie" is coming too.

Ain't He A Proud Pappy?

Pappy wanted a picture so that he could post them as his profile picture for Facebook. So, there it is. He is so proud. Remember he is the one that bought the John Deere bicycles when they were only 4 weeks old. HA!!

The boys went back to the doctors this week. Luke weighs 20 lbs 11oz. Prentiss weighs 18lbs and 10oz. Prentiss saw the cardiologist on Monday after seeming to have a few problems. The doctor has scheduled his heart surgery for September 1. He is going to try to close both the PDA and ASD with one procedure. He said he would just have to "get in there and see". The surgery will take about 3-4 hrs. Please remember them in your prayers. The doctor said after the surgery he will be a "new baby". He is doing so well, playing like a little monkey. I can hardly imagine him anymore active than he is now!! WHEW!!! God is good. Prentiss is in HIS hands. We are believing God is in control for all of it.

Does any of my bloggin friends out there have a Kindle? I have been reading about it on Amazon and thought about purchasing. If anyone has one, let me know your thoughts.

Have a great weekend. I'll be working.....

Sour Patch Kids

Yesterday Pappy and I babysat while Lil Mom and Dad went for a fun day in the sun, cook-in out, fishing, and visiting with friends. Of course, they had to twist our arms to keep the boys. I tell you it is a two person deal. I totally respect Lil Mom for doing this day-in and day-out , 24-7. They never both sleep at the same time. When you get one down the other is up and ready to go.
Then there are bottles to make, diapers to change, an
d with them medications to give. For any of you that have BOYS can appreciate this, yesterday I was changing Prentiss and before I could get him changed....we had a MAJOR accident.....tee-tee everywhere....you know what I mean...running down the wall, on the changing table, in his face....all over his clothes I had just changed him into...all over YaYa...I was grabbin everything I could get to cover the fountain. When I got him changed and put in his bouncy seat, I thought ,well since I have to change sheets I might as well put on a load of baby laundry. They washed, when completed I went to put in the dryer and there was "stuff" all over the clothes...I thought maybe the detergent didn't dissolve...no... using liquid, maybe I took the clothes out before it rinsed, no that's not it.......I decided to wash the clothes again.....then as I was trying to put in the dryer after the second wash I realized I had washed a Huggies diaper in with the sheet from the changing table.....boy what a mess, there was fuzzy stuff all over their clothes, worse than if they had been washed with new towels. GEE, what a MESS! I thought I was doing a good thing!...It was truly a LUCY moments....Lil Mom and Dad got home about 8 last night....needless to say we didn't have to be rocked to sleep......

The pictures above.....Prentiss as his Dad was giving him a taste of "Cabbage Sour baby".....he seemed to like it...see the dribble on his chin? HA!..he only got a lick so no one get upset about him "getting sugar"
Luke??? Not so much.....HA!!! Don't think we will have to worry about him getting into the sour candy!!!!!!!!!

Last week Pappy spent 3 days in the hospital with cellulitis. IV antibiotics did the trick. This picture was taken before it got so bad..before he was admitted to the hospital. Hopefully the next couple of months will improve with him. He has had bilateral partial knee replacement, appendicitis, and now this. I told him I was going to trade him in for 2--30's.... HA!!!! now we know that is a JOKE!!!!!!!

Hope you guys have a wonderful week. God bless!

Happy 4th of July

"Proclaim Liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof," is the legend moulded around the Liberty Bell. This inscription is from the twenty-fifth chapter of Leviticus, as part of the directions given by Jehovah for the celebration of the year of jubilee, and the very next words to it in the Bible are:
"It shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession."
For Liberty is the "possession" of every man, woman and child.
The story of the Liberty Bell is the story of Liberty. It is a history of thrills and throbs and tears. If the ancient Hebrew slaves had not made that immortal dash for liberty when the Egyptians pursuing them were drowned in the Red Sea, there never would have been that
tumult in the city,
In the quaint old Quaker town,
when the Liberty Bell rang in the "year of jubilee", and rang out the glad tidings of freedom "throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof."

Some Liberty Bell Trivia:

The bell cracked the first time it was rung

The bell weighed 2080 pounds when it was cast.

The strike note of the Bell is E-flat.

On the bell, "Pennsylvania" is spelled "Pensylvania"

The Liberty Bell did not ring on July 4, 1776, actually it was on July 8, 1776.

I hope every one enjoyed their Independence Day Celebration with family and friends.
I am so grateful to have been born in America.

Hot, Hot, Hot shoes

Where did June do ??? It is so very hot here. This has been a very dry month, only 0.5 inches of rain. My yard crunches when you take a step. Hopefully we get some rain soon. I would be ashamed for Tootsie to see my flowers...whew!

As a young adult, going shopping with my Mom whenever we got separated she always would say she could go to the shoe department and find me. Things have really changed or should I say "we come a long way baby". I do LOVE ME SOME SHOES!!! Here are a few pics. Definitely not for YaYa!!!!!!!!!!
