IDENTICAL

We learned yesterday...bottom line. We are identical twins...through all the medical jargon....we are identical. We are doing well. Trying to sit up on our own even though our doctor said we would be older before we would do this....but we have a mind of our own.
Oh yes, We DEFINITELY HAVE A MIND OF OUR OWN....just ask us!! HA!!!!

Always twirl

I very much needed a laugh today. I hope this does not offend anyone, but if so....SORRY.
This is exactly why you should always, ALWAYS...twirl once in front of the mirror before leaving the house. But, just think how many people she made smile throughout the day.

Hope you got a laugh too!!

Good Boy

He is such a good boy. When he went to the doctor on Tuesday we were told he had bronchitis, thus the wheezing. He is taking the breathing treatment every 4 hrs. He has done very well. He and Luke have now started "tracking us" and laughin at us. They are so much fun. Can you tell I have it BAD?? HA!! He goes back to the doctor tomorrow for re-check. I know God is still taking care of him. They are now sleeping all night long, going to bed about 9pm and sleeping until 7 am. Isn't that great? Lil Mom and Dad certainly think so!!!!

Our first ear infection

Last week was another "first". We were not feeling very well so Mom took us to the doctor and was told we had ear infections. We were put on Amoxicillin, along with all our other meds....YUCK!!! they say we are suppose to like ☺ it , but NOT....we spit and sputter like a car running out of gas. After a few attempts we managed to get it down...plus all over Mom...tee--hee.....

Now 12 days later Mom takes us back to doctor today. We are doing better but little brother has to have breathing treatment as he has a little wheezing going on. Doctor says we are going to be fine though...
Wow!!! Doctor weighed us today...mmmm
16 lbs 6 oz....that's ME :)..they say I'm "off the chart", what ever that means!! HA!!...14 lbs 8 oz...that's little brother, Prentiss. Boy, we are tired from all the whooo haaa today and are going to take a nap....come back and visit us soon. We like our new bloggin friends.

P.S. don't worry about my neck. I love to sleep this way! HA!!!

Suger Lumps

Isn't this just hilarious? HA!
They are what I call sugar lumps or as Pickett would say "sweet taters". HA!!!

We went to the ophthalmologist today and were told their eyes were PERFECTLY NORMAL. As preemie babies and having to be on oxygen, it was a concern because the oxygen can cause eye damage. God is good. We serve an awesome God. I told my DIL today that God knew these babies by name before they were born. Just like the men and women of the Bible, God has a purpose for their lives. He will watch over them to prepare them for that purpose. God has a purpose for your life, too. He will continue to work through events in our life to draw you to Him. God brought Lil Mama all the way from Michigan to be part of our family for which I am thankful. She is such a "good little Mama"...."Dad is a good dad as well".
When he comes home from work he helps her do EVERYTHING, cooks dinner, cleans, changes diapers, feeds babies...on and on until they both collapse. They both will tell you it is absolutely worth it and would not change a thing. God bless them!

Great Surprise

In our synical society, there comes along someone who helps us to believe in ourselves--to encourage the best in all of us. This video will further enforce the thought "what you see is NOT always what you get". Enjoy!

Good Report Today

No he was not talking to Yaya...he was caught talking to the ceiling fan. He and his brother just love it. They love the bright drop down lights over the bar as well.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Today was another check-up for Prentiss with the cardiologist. He had EKG and ECHO done of his heart. He is progressing well. No changes in his heart meds. Will return for another follow-up in July. MD is now thinking he will have surgery when he is 18 months old. As long as he continues to do well, we can hold off the surgery. Prentiss took everything today like a trooper even though he was "poked and prodded". Luke and Prentiss are both still on antibiotics for ear infections. The only problem they had with that was diarrhea and subsequent "bad diaper rash". They were both so sweet today, laughing and "talking".....can you tell I "have it bad"....that's ok, I love being a YaYa to both little lumps of sugar. HA!! Please continue to pray for God's presence in their lives. Mamaw Sue bought them a "babies" Bible for Easter and Little Mama has already read all the Bible stories to them. Thanks Mamaw Sue, we love you.

Peter Cottontail

I know, it's my second post of the day. But I have been thinking of my older son today. That would be Uncle J for those of you that have read about the twins eventful early start in life....Anyway, one of my best memories was him coming home from daycare at the age of two so excited he learned a new song. He sung with such passion and excitement...

"Her (here) cumes (comes) Peder (Peter) Cottontail hoppin down the bunny trail....Hippy, Hoppy Easder (Easter)s on it way"...

Such a sweet, precious memory. It will forever be branded in my heart and mind.

I love you, Peanut.

Happy Easter

Good morning to all my bloggin friends. I am at work this morning thinking about what a beautiful day it will be. I wanted to wish everyone a blessed day. In the paper this morning was a full page ad I thought was appropriate for this day. I should add , this was paid for by Hobby Lobby.
Have a great day and remember He IS Risen.

Project almost complete

Wednesday I finished half the Lucy/Ethel project. I still have to make mine and also the pot holders. I drove to my Mom's then we drove over to Ethel's and hand delivered the apron. I wanted her to have it for Easter. I think Ethel's DIL just may steal the apron. She likes aprons, but may not cook very much. HA!!! We had a great time visiting, laughing about earlier days. Ethel really has some tales about her experiences "coming into the family". Tell me what you think about the apron. I'd love to hear your comments. Cute model, don't ya think?

Good Friday

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless Your holy name. I thank God for salvation. He IS RISEN !!! so that I may live. They could not keep Him down!!

Sick Smiley

I titled this post for Luke. He is always smiling, but not today.
We had to take him back to the pediatrician this morning. He was doing better after seeing doctor on Saturday, but you know how babies are....in a SECOND they can get sick. He was so sweet this morning. He just laid his little head on our shoulder and closed his eyes. You could tell he did not feel well....all the while little Prentiss was "talking" wide-open. I think he is going to be so "nosey". He just laughed and cooed. Did I tell you he and Luke are "in love" with the ceiling fan?!! They will laugh and talk to the fan. It is just hilarious. Back to what I was saying.....Luke now weighs 15 lbs 4oz. We were told he has an ear infection. Prentiss was checked as well. He is congested and MD thought she would treat them both for ear infection. They are on Amoxicillin and neither one like the taste....YUCK! they say.
We also had to get a cool mist humidifier. The Nap Nanny has been a life saver because they both have been able to continue to sleep well. Since they are elevated they can still breath even though they are congested. MD also told us with ear infection babies will cry when you lie them flat because it increases pressure in their ears. Did not know that!
Taking them to the doctor was an all day deal. Loading, unloading, packing, unpacking...whew!! I now understand what I have always heard...babies are made for young people!! HA!!!!
I'll keep you posted on those sweet little fellows. Please continue to pray for them.

Nap Nanny has arrived

Nap Nanny...they arrived yesterday and the twins absolutely love them. They slept well again last night. I told my DIL ....I wish they made them for adults...They are made from pressed formed foam and covered with a removeable minky coverlet....so SOFT and COMFY. See the pictures. The pictures are two Nap Nannies butted together. Light weight so that they can be transported easily....(YaYa's house) HA!!! Check out the website for Nap Nanny.Luke was actully sick, but he sure was acting sweet. He saw the doctor this morning and mom was told he had a virus. He now weighs 15 lbs....oh my goodness!!!! He certainly doesn't look like a preemie baby, does he???? You may wonder what that is Prentiss has on this face.....a pacifer taped to a small blanket. That is a trick Lil Mom learned working in the well-baby nursery. Hopefully soon they will be able to "hold onto it"....anyway, it serves it purpose. Not sure what blogspot is doing with the last of this entry.....anyway...ya'll have a good weekend.

The Coffee Grinder Miracle

Yesterday my DIL told be about a product called Nap Nanny. I don't know if you have ever heard of this. I had not. I began to search the internet and found this to be ideal for babies with reflux. In looking to find a local dealer, the closest I could find was in LA. I called the boutique and in the course of conversation with the worker she told me of a mother of twins that had been to a gastrointerologist of her babies reflux. She was told to grind the rice cereal with a coffee grinder before mixing with formula. Needless, to say I swiftly was on my way to purchase a grinder.
Having made the purchase, I went to see the boys. We ground up the rice cereal while Mom gave baths. The boys ate their green beans and took their bottles with ground rice cereal then promptly went to sleep. Mom and Dad didn't get that excited because going to sleep quickly was not unusual however, staying sleep was. Dad woke up as day light was breaking through the window, thinking how did I sleep through all the night feedings?? He always gets up and helps her feed. He thought "why didn't she wake me"?.....Well, Praise Be!!! It's a miracle!!! Little Mama said.....THEY SLEPT ALLLLL NIGHT!!!! No getting up.......Little Mama woke up frequently to check for their breathing.....since they had never sleep alllll night. I would also like to report the boys have been SO VERY HAPPY today,,,, no fussing, took their naps, "talked" to the ceiling fan....overall it was a wonderful day...Little Mama sure did seem happier tonight as I check on them.....By the way....I ordered two Nap Nannies...will let you know how that is. The boutique reports rave review and they sell out as soon as shipments come in. Thank God life is getting better!! HA!!!
