Old becomes New

This is on old china cabinet my mom used when I was a little girl....yes, that has been looong time ago. HA! I had told her years ago when she got ready to dispose of it ....I wanted it.
She gave it to me about 2 months ago.
I sanded it down and painted it black. I tried to spray paint it but just could not get the look I wanted. After sanding, I painted two coats of satin Behr black paint. When it dried, I used sand paper on the edges to give it a worn look. The handles and pulls were changed to a silver nichol finish. I tried to take better pictures, but just couldn't get the lighting correct.

I am using it in my sewing room to store my fabric stash. Tell me what you think. Do you have any suggestions or ways I could have restored it any better?

Today I put up the Christmas tree hoping it would "get me in the Christmas mood"....I am trying anyway....later.

It's so pretty! You did a great job. I'm always afraid to try painting furniture, but always impressed when someone else does it!

Thanks, I was "sweating" there for a while. I thought I had really messed it up. Wish I could have gotten a better "after" picture.

Becky,
I'm just finding the kind words of encouragement you left on my blog. You will never know how much they mean to me! Thank you so much.

Hi there!

Thanks for your visit to my blog the other day and your warm words about my grand babies.

I pray that all is well with you and your family. How's Luke and Prentiss? Whenever they come to mind I PRAY for them.

Merry Christmas to you and your precious family. Nice to reconnect. Blessings.
