Luke is going home today!! Yipee! Little Mama and Dad had a "room-in" last night so that he could go home today. They also allowed Prentiss to stay in as well. NOTE: they were taking pictures AND...."this is Luke, no THIS is Luke"....better get out the nail polish folks!!!
Another neonatologist was on-call this morning and he said Prentiss was anemic and needed a transfusion, thus some of his symptoms may be related to that rather than the heart. The "talk" yesterday was air-lift to Arkansas Children's Hosp or have surgery at Univ of MS Med Center. Now the talk is wait and see, treat with meds. Will potentially go home tomorrow on meds and see the cardiologist in a couple of days. At that point, I'm sure another decision will have to be made.
Just now received a call from Dad, they just received a call from doctors Luke has a heart murmer also...don't know at this point what kind. More later.
So sorry to hear about Luke's murmur. Mom and Dad are certainly being challenged by all of these preemie trials. I will keep my prayers coming for them.
Yes, I think nail polish is a necessity. I wonder how many twins have been mixed up over the years.
Oh, my. What an emotional roller coaster for all of you! I'm sure the boys are just as worn out from all this. That nail polish idea is a new one to me but sounds like a good one. We'll just keep the prayers going up and God will keep the blessing coming down. Have a great new week and new year! Sharon
I just received a message from you on my blog to come over and pray for your precious grandbabies. As a Grandmother of two precious baby girls I certainly know the love of being a Grandma. I was honored to come by and pray for Luke and Prentiss. I read ALL the posts from 11/20 to now concerning your precious Grandsons and then my husband Peter sat and prayed fervently for their lives. We are also praying for their parents and for you and your husband. I'm sure you have a lot of people praying with and for you so be encouraged and may 2009 be a year filled with all the joy and peace of the Holy Spirit and lots of laughter and joy with your Grand babies!
Wife, mother of two adults sons and their precious wives. Grandmother (YaYa) to two precious boys both born 11/20/08. Luke Austin and Prentiss William. Have been married to "pappy" for 33 years. Lovin life, laughter.
