Got off work this morning at 7am...still cannot sleep. Sounds like an "Ethel" problem to me! HA!! Maybe sometime it will come.
I get to baby-sit these little munchkins tomorrow while lil Mom is busy hosting a baby shower for a friend. Some people may not think this is much fun, but these little dudes are SO MUCH FUN !!! Who could resist???? Certainly not YaYa.
A bloggerland friend, Kat, has decided to close her blog. Evidently, someone has made some disturbing comments on her blog. We will miss her very much. She is a kind and beautiful person. Why do some people have to be so NASTY? Speaking of disturbing, I have a large window in the kitchen/sitting area. There is a robin that continues to fling himself into the window and knocks himself down, again, again and again. The robin is much more beautiful than brainy. He is driving me crazy. Of course, some people would say that is not very far!! What's up with this crazy bird? I can only asume he sees his reflection and is protecting his territory. How long will this last??? HELP!!! bang, bang, bang!!!!
Memorial Day...This holiday function was established to honor the men and women of the United States who have lost their lives while serving our nation's military service. Please take a moment today to reflect on the sacrifices made by these men and women and their families. It is because of them that we enjoy our freedom today.
Yep, we finally did it....we got high chairs!! It's not that easy trying to eat from a bouncy seat. We also tried sippy cups today with apple juice. Not sure we like that very much, certainly have not gotten the hang of it yet.
We'll keep trying though!! Prentiss is on the left with Dad and Luke is on the right laughing at Lil Mom.
Pappy goes back to doctor tomorrow for tummy check. Hopefully all is well. He is getting stronger everyday.
Some may wonder where I have been. It has been an exciting week. I worked last Sunday, Mothers Day, got off at 7pm. I went to Lil Mom and Dad's for "get together"....No pappy. He had gone to see his mother for the day. No one had talked to him on the phone all day. Normally he is home by 3 or 4pm.....still no Pappy. I told my son I was going to go home and see if he was there. My older son said he would go and I should stay and visit with everyone. In about 15 mins he calls and said I should come because "something was not right with dad"....needless to say I rushed over and after attempting to talk to him realized he must have appendix problem.....We went to ED about 8:30 pm and after being seen and having CT it was decided he had appendicitis. The surgeon was called in and he had emergency surgery at 1am Monday morning. We learn when the surgeon completed the surgery the appendix had ruptured and he had peritonitis. We were in the hospital for 4 days. He is at home today, trying to celebrate his birthday today. He is still very weak, but slowly progressing. We go back to the doctor on Wed. I should say the surgeon was excellent and the hospital visit was as good as it could be considering. Everyone was extremely nice and we were well taken care of. KUDOS to Dr Jason Murphy and the Baptist Medical Center. The very best birthday present he could have had was a visit from the grandchildren. They are growing and doing so well. We are so grateful. God is good.
I think this is what Pappy felt like when he woke up in the wee hours of Monday morning. He still can't "jump too high" HA!!
